The model includes:
- Shared active and inactive overnight support across the site
- Clinical oversight from a Registered Nurse
- Personal care routines planned collaboratively and reviewed regularly
- Additional direct supports provided according to individual NDIS funding
Before moving in, staff work with residents to understand their routines, health needs and preferences. Equipment, appointments and clinical supports are planned in advance to ensure support fits around daily life.
Housemate compatibility is carefully considered, including communication styles, routines and overnight support needs.
This home is intended for people with High Physical Support needs related to mobility and daily care, including those with spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy, progressive neurological conditions, acquired brain injury, spina bifida or stroke.
The accommodation and support model is not designed for people whose behaviours of concern are incompatible with shared living arrangements, or for those assessed below High Physical Support SDA funding.
